The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Genre: Fantasy, Fiction, Historical

“Three words, large enough to tip the world. I remember you.”

This novel follows Addie LaRue a woman who makes a bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets until after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man and he remembers her.

I really loved this book, V.E Schwab is such a good writer and her characters always feel so real. Addie was such a great character and the way her story unfolds brought me to tears; her desire to live is inspiring. It’s so hard not to love her, especially since she is so determined and badass. I do wish we got to see more of her adventures instead of just hearing about them…

Henry was also a really good character and it was magical watching his story intertwined with Addies. I loved their relationship, connection, and dedication to each other. The darkness was such an interesting character, and I honestly just wanted more of him. I enjoyed this character a lot more than henry, but of course, I love a good antagonist. I just feel like there wasn’t enough? For such a long book not much actually happens.

This book was enchanting and did pull me in but I wish there was more. I usually don’t enjoy historical fiction, but I didn’t mind this! I was able to read it completely in one sitting and was just so happy with how it ended! The ending had me sobbing and I will for sure remember Addie LaRue.
