The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Genre: Fantasy, Fiction, Historical

“Three words, large enough to tip the world. I remember you.”

This novel follows Addie LaRue a woman who makes a bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets until after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man and he remembers her.

I really loved this book, V.E Schwab is such a great writer and her characters always feel so real. Addie was such a great character and the way her story unfolds brought me to tears; her desire to live is inspiring. I do wish we got to see more of her adventures instead of just hearing about them.

Henry was also a really great character, to me he wasn’t very interesting, but watching his story intertwine with Addie’s was magical. On the other hand the darkness was far more interesting of a character, and I wanted to understand him. I enjoyed the complexity of her relationship with the darkness, and overall love a great antagonist.

This book was engaging, enchanting, and beautiful, but I wish there was more. I usually don’t enjoy historical fiction, but overall I really enjoyed this book and read it completely in one sitting. I fell in love with Addie LaRue, and her story will live on in my brain.
