She’s My Knight Vol. 1 by Saisou

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Genre: Romance, Young Adult, Manga

“Are you some kind of oblivious manga protagonist or something?! How are you so clueless?”

Haruma Ichinose is very popular and up until now, he hasn’t met anyone as perfect as Yuki Mogami. She’s tall, cool, collected, and totally makes him crazy. But can he deal with falling for someone even more dashing than himself?

This is a very funny manga and I laughed out loud throughout reading it! It was hilarious and entertaining watching this unique dynamic play out and seeing these classic shojo tropes with the gender roles switched.

The characters were self-aware which made it extra funny, and Haruma’s irritation by the situations really cracked me up. But thankfully Haruma and Yuki also had real insecurities so they weren’t one dimensional.

Each story segment was short and well written and I enjoyed the storylines. It was all over the place at moments but I would totally continue this series and totally recommend this book if you want a light-hearted and funny romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC of She’s My Knight by Saisou!
