People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

“I still have a lot to figure out, but the one thing I know is, wherever you are, that’s where I belong. I’ll never belong anywhere like I belong with you.”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Poppy and Alex are best friends who are very different. Every summer for over ten years they have taken a week vacation together. Until two years ago when everything went wrong and they stopped speaking. Poppy wants her friend back and convinces him to go on vacation and surprisingly he agrees; she has a week to fix everything.

AhHhHhHHhhh! I loved everything about this and enjoyed it completely!!! I went into this with high hopes because I loved Beach Reads, and Emily Henry did not disappoint. I cried and smiled from ear to ear and if there were flaws I was blind to them. This has many great tropes you can’t go wrong with like friends to lovers, second chance romance, and opposites attract…I could scream.

Poppy is a fun wild child whereas Alex is serious and more reserved, which made for such a great dynamic. The chemistry between them and the banter was so fun and I believed every single moment. I loved both of the characters individually and as a pairing and shipped them immediately. You get to experience their past vacations as you watch the current day unfold and it was all so beautifully woven together.

I just can’t get over how much I enjoyed this, there is so much I want to say, but no words for it. Emily Henry has definitely made it to my favourite author list. This was such a great slow-burn romance with complex characters in beautiful places, I couldn’t put it down. I cannot recommend this enough, you will not regret it.
