The Soulmate Equation By Christina Lauren

“Statistics can’t tell us what will happen, they can only tell us what might happen.”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This book follows single mom Jess, a statistics wizard, who was raised by her grandparents after her reckless mother disappeared on her. One day she randomly decides to sign up for a DNA-based matchmaking company that is becoming popular that is supposed to find her soulmate. Well, until her test shows an unheard-of 98% compatibility with the founder of the company.

I was totally hooked on this concept and honestly, couldn’t put this book down. I really liked Jess and thought she was complex, smart and hardworking. I felt for her and wanted her to find happiness and security. Children in books aren’t my thing, but! I really loved watching Jess’s relationship with her daughter enjoyed Juno’s overall role in the story. River is sexy, smart and brooding and I loved how soft he was with Juno!!

The romance was entertaining, you cannot go wrong with enemies to lovers. The characters had such great chemistry and it was great seeing them get closer and fall in love. The side characters were also great and it’s always nice to see supportive and healthy friendships. I was getting so annoyed that she kept giving in to all of her mother’s whims, but understand that trauma does be like that. Overall really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance. I have enjoyed a few of Christina Lauren’s books now and I am looking forward to what she releases next.
